Plant windows differ by species. Sea Oats Unicola Paniculata and Bitter Panicum are summer plants and should be planted between May - August. If your project involves disturbance of existing dunes (replacing or repairing a walkway, adding a pool, etc) it is a good idea to check with your local coastal management agency to see if you need a permit. Our team stays up to date on permit requirements and can help you navigate submission.

Proper installation of vegetation includes watering to support the first two weeks after instalation. Additional watering may be needed if your site experiences high temperatures or no rain for the two weeks after installation. Vitex rotundifolia is an invasive species which crowds out native vegetation and distrubs local habitat. Vitex spreads quickly and establishes deep root structures which need to be treated and removed to prevent spread. Removal allows diverse native vegitation to grow and support a strong ecosystem to protect the property behind it.

Any improper use of pesticides can cause unintentional damage to nearby flora and fauna. Hiring a experienced contractor with an active pesticide license is the best way to protect native species while removing invasive vegetation.

Orders for NC, SC, and VA are delivered to the customer in person or via the mail for a delivery fee. Our Greenhouses are not open to the public.
