Coastal Project Consultation

Permitting Support
Whether this is your first big project on the beach, an update, or recovering from damage, coastal permitting is an important step. Our staff has expertise working within multiple states’ guidance and can help you navigate when you need a permit, what information you need, and support meeting vegetation requirements.
Native Vegetation Installation
Our staff works hard to produce hearty native vegetation for each project and offers expert installation giving your plants the best chance of surviving extreme coastal climates. From 1,000 plants on an individual lot to 1,000,000 plants at the industry or governmental scale, Coastal Transplants staff provides installation for projects of all sizes.
Sand Fence Installation
Sand fence helps trap blowing sand to build the elevation of your dune, increasing the protection provided. We work within your state’s guidelines to install sand fence on your property or project.
DUNE RESTORATION
Staff works with federal, state, and local partners on large dune restoration projects. Coastal Transplants has supported large-scale projects with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and National Fish and Wildlife Foundation focused on increasing community storm resilience. From design to planning meetings our staff stays engaged through final installation of vegetation.
Coastal Resiliency Planning
Our staff can help think through where vegetation and sand fence can play the biggest part in your community or property’s ability to come back stronger after a storm. When designing resilience plans make sure to call our expert staff to discuss how proactive planting can support your goals.
Invasive Species Removal
Invasive species thrive in our climate, crowding out native plants and reducing diversity. We work with you to identify, remove, repair, and replant native species to provide a healthy ecosystem.
Post- Storm Recovery
Coastal storms leave vegetative debris, broken posts, and washouts. We work with you to support debris removal, repair or replace fences, and replant to make sure your property bounces back better.
Maintenance Programs
Projects big and small can benefit from continually care and attention. From watering in a heat wave or to moving sand fence, a maintenance program may be right for you.
Monitoring
Coastal Transplants staff and partners work together to monitor coastal projects. We support reporting requirements with plant counts during installation, survey for invasive species removal, and work with partners to map project area effectiveness.
Grant Support
We support grant proposals and implementation through expert consultations, surveys and monitoring of site vegetation, installation, educational partnerships, and reporting.
